Production Paperwork and Relevant Notes

 Production Paperwork and Relevant Notes

Locations:

When beginning to plan our production we looked at multiple different locations as a team, these included:

  • The diner (at Maidstone TV studios)
  • Mickey's diner
  • Hot Rod diner
  • The Oasis Cafe
  • The Portabello Inn
When choosing a location we considered which ones are best for both filming and travel for crew as this is an important thing to consider. We had a preference of using the diner at Maidstone but knew access to this was limited/ may not be possible so we also contacted other locations to find out about availability. We preferred a diner setting as this was the perfect location for the scene but had back-up ideas of bars/ traditional style café which would also make a good fit if diners were not available.

When our location at Maidstone was confirmed we had to work hard and fast to complete all of the pre-production paperwork these include; the call sheet, risk assessment, shot list, story board and schedule. As well as having to decide production roles.

We had to cast from within the crew so Sam and I starred as the main actors Liz and Jax, with Marcus also starring as the waiter.

Layla took the role as producer and director.
Marcus was the director of photography
Georgie and Natene were the assistant D.O.Ps and sound operators.

I completed the call sheet, which involved putting in everyone's roles and contact details so they were easily accessible and speaking with the producer to get an idea of the schedule and the calling times for different roles. I also had to state the location, date, calling time, lunch break, production office address, nearest hospital, scenes and cast needed and set requirements so everyone was aware what was happening on the day, where they were supposed to be and who was expected to be on set.

I made sure everyone had a copy of the call sheet so everyone knew the plans for the production day so it was clear and would all run smoothly.
